Is work-life balance of yesterday? What now?

The current discussions about working hours in companies are continuously audible. People are obviously deeply afraid of being exploited. And this at the expense of their own health. But is it really the case that working damages health? Or is it perhaps the case that the concept of work-life balance once served us well and is now obsolete? Or is it perhaps the case that our culture and the values associated with it simply change too quickly for us? Should we rethink work-life balance and values?

Are we being exploited?

Keeping something like work and life in balance is a difficult undertaking, like constantly balancing an old kitchen scale. It’s also an outdated concept from the early days of industrialization. In my article in DiePresse on August 6, 2018, I go into more detail: Work-Life Balance was yesterday. And what about today? But what helps us?

An other perspective

Our youth today sees it radically differently. Values like community, meaningfulness, family and also one’s own self are getting more and more in importance and priority. At least in comparison with the time from 2 to 3 generations ago we can see this. Much more different facets of one’s own life, such as partnership & family, friendship, personal development, health & sport and spirituality are emerging. They are given at least the same meaning as work and money – and that is very good.

These young people, who belong to Generation Y & Z and the Milleniums, simply tick differently. We can learn a lot from them. We can learn to regain power over our own lives.

Get your power back.

We have much more power over ourselves and our lives than we think we have. We should always be aware of this.

The one who blames his own situation on other people or circumstances gives up his power. Namely, precisely to these other people and to these external circumstances. The one who is to blame has the power.

Therefore, it would be a good idea to know how you can take matters into your own hands again. I will show you the way to regain your power over your life.

How can I put this into practice?

After a few units, clients who worked with me had fresh ideas for concrete plans and next steps, a new strategy and clear, manageable goals. And their work-life balance also came back. With mental techniques for physical health, we unleash innovative forces that inspire you and your employees.

It brings them back to their authenticity and joy of life, so that they can act clearly, focused and excellently in every situation in the future.
